EPF Calculator — Employee Provident Fund Balance Estimator
The Employee Provident Fund (EPF) is a mandatory retirement savings scheme for salaried employees in India earning up to ₹15,000 basic salary per month (though employees above this threshold also participate voluntarily). Our EPF calculator estimates your provident fund corpus at retirement based on your basic salary, current EPF balance, and years of service remaining.
EPF contribution is 12% of basic salary from the employee, matched by 12% from the employer. Of the employer's 12%, 8.33% goes to EPS (Employee Pension Scheme, capped at ₹1,250/month for basic ≤ ₹15,000) and 3.67% to EPF. The current EPF interest rate for FY 2024-25 is 8.25% p.a., credited annually. The interest earned is tax-free if withdrawn after 5 years of continuous service.
Use this EPF balance calculator to estimate how much your provident fund will grow by retirement. For a 25-year-old earning ₹50,000 basic salary, contributing till age 60, the EPF corpus could cross ₹2 crore at 8% average interest rate — making EPF a cornerstone of any Indian retirement plan.
