GPA Calculator — Grade Point Average for All Universities
Our GPA calculator computes your Grade Point Average (GPA) from your subject grades and credit hours using the 10-point scale followed by most Indian universities (IITs, NITs, BITS, and many state universities) and the 4-point scale used by international universities. Simply enter each subject's grade points and credit hours to get your weighted GPA instantly.
GPA grading scale (10-point, common in Indian universities): O (Outstanding) = 10, A+ = 9, A = 8, B+ = 7, B = 6, C = 5, P (Pass) = 4. The weighted GPA formula is: GPA = Σ(Grade Points × Credits) ÷ Σ(Credits). A student with subjects worth 3, 4, 3, 4, 2 credits earning grades 9, 8, 10, 7, 8 respectively has GPA = (27+32+30+28+16) ÷ 16 = 133/16 = 8.31.
Converting GPA to percentage for Indian job applications: The popular conversion formulas vary — CBSE uses: Percentage = GPA × 9.5 (for 10-point scale). Many companies and higher education institutions in India are now moving away from percentage and accepting GPA directly. For US universities, a 10-point GPA of 8.0+ is roughly equivalent to a 3.5+ on the 4-point scale. Use our CGPA calculator to compute your cumulative GPA across all semesters.
